Danced on last night to find an enthusiastic smiley man in the front from Armadale called Blair, who was a photographer, only to then be distracted by a very tall man with an extremely shiny bald head and the most beautiful crisp white shirt you’ve ever seen. He was called John and he was from the West End of Glasgow but had now moved to a very charming sounding place called ‘Livingston Village’ – one could only imagine that he had come here by horse and carriage! 😂
Then suddenly, way up the back, this guy walked in coming back from the toilet, inadvertently drawing a lot of attention to himself. He turned out to be Jamie the gravedigger who had literally dug his own grave by walking in late! Thank god he was in good health because there’s nothing worse than a gravedigger ‘coughin’! 😂
We had a man from Durban in South Africa who had moved to Livingston for safety, a girl called Maria from Germany, three girls who swanned in late because they had been “drinkin’ in the hoose”, a very proud man from Arbroath, who really could not have enjoyed the letter ‘R’ in Arbroath more, a guy from Manchester with easily the most Scottish accent in the world because apparently he moved here in 1976, a brilliant woman called Mags who had been before but had now “gotten over all her ailments”, and the lovely smiley lesbian in the front who I think was the only gay in the village! And of course, I just had to get Jamie the gravedigger up for a big dance off at the end and boy was he ‘diggin’ it! 😂👏
It was such a fun Friday, and I now can’t wait for a big sassy Saturday in Livingston tonight again!
All the touring gigs are listed on my website below. Hope to see yez there! 🥳
